Okay, so there is no chicken dinner involved in this one … and besides you wouldn’t want it anyway! My idea of chicken dinner at this stage of my pregnancy is microwaved nuggets (hey, they are “natural” and “breast meat”… does that give me extra mommy points)?
Drumstick Drumroll please…

# 14 NickiC… you win $100 off tuition! Go ahead and use the registration form, we’ll get you taken care of!

Photoblog101 workshop participants are churning out some really unique blogs. Jenn Campbell started from scratch. She’d seen photoblog101 on Clickin’ Moms and Willette Designs. She signed up, secured hosting & domain registration and was off (like a prom dress? like a rocket? to the races?)! Check it out:
She’s incorporated a custom background texture, added padding and shadow at the top of the blog, customized her font and link colors, added a border around her slideshow (oh yeah, she totally learned the whole slideshow bit in the workshop too!) and completely customized the bottom footer area. She also did a lot of work with plugins including the “share on facebook” option you see at the bottom of posts.
Something tells me Jenn will continue to personalize this blog but it’s so great to see what she’s done with what we taught her. This workshop takes all of the guesswork and frustration out of customizing your own blog. I’m hoping she sticks around the graduate forum when her session is over so we can watch what she does with this blog as well as continues discussion with other graduates.
Please stop by www.jenncampbell.com and leave her some love. She’s worked hard and done such an impressive job. Yay Jenn!!

We are unlocking all of the secrets to a great blog! You will install it, customize it and get yourself SEO-ready…

Here are the pertinent details:
- Class is in an online, private forum and includes access to unlimited Q&A through a highly structured 4-week Wordpress blog platform class.
- Access anytime, post at 2AM or 3PM. Do it at your own pace following the weekly outline.
- 4 weeks of assignments + one “wrap up” week include everything you need to know to get your blog off the ground and build and manage your own web-presence from hosting to SEO.
- At the end of the class the class you get a complete workbook including all of the lessons plus ongoing access to a graduate forum area to continue to develop your blog.
Syllabus:
Week 1:
- .com v. .org
- choosing a domain name, DNS
- hosting
- FTP & database (including video tutorials)
- wordpress installation
Week 2:
- Installing a theme (we recommend SLR themes)
- Installing plugins
- Installing a slideshow
- Creating pages and posts / password protected areas
Week 3:
- Basic Modifications: colors, fonts, links, menu customization, linking facebook/twitter
- Advanced Modifications: theme changes per page, installing your own fonts, creating a unique space
Week 4
- Creating regular backups
- SEO
- Facebook integration / twitter integration
- Feeds
Wrap up week
- optional (migrating your OLD blog from blogger)
- Complete Q&A – open forum
- Feedback and review of your work (the “report card”).
Pre-reqs
- No knowledge about CSS / HTML or web-related “stuff” is required. This is a “101″ level class and we cover all of that. If you do know some, you’ll just be slightly ahead. Don’t worry, we will still challenge you!
- You do need to have hosting space. We recommend bluehost. If you have to purchase hosting for the first time ever, we offer a discount on tuition because we realize it is a bit more to take on financially. Please contact us for details.
- You should have a photo-editing program and know how to use it. PS, PSE, or PSP all do the trick. We don’t even care what version you have!
Cost of class $225
We keep the class size REALLY small so you get a lot of one-on-one attention and Q&A time. It’s like having your own tutor the whole time.
You will not find this much, plain-English, no-geek-speak wordpress installation and customization information anywhere else on the web. We hand-hold you through the process… and we are here to help you learn to do it on your own so you can understand and be IN CONTROL of your web-presence.
The next 101 class will not be until January (I’m having a baby soon!)… but the graduate forums will remain open for those that are past participants so they can keep developing and trying out new things.
We begin Aug 10th! Don’t miss out!
